In partnership with Capital Public Radio and The Sacramento Bee, AAJA Sacramento is sponsoring a paid 10-week internship program for aspiring journalists. There will be one intern working at The Bee and a second at Capital Public Radio. The program begins in May or June 2020. Applicants must be 2020 AAJA student members.
In partnership with The Sacramento Bee and Capital Public Radio, AAJA Sacramento is sponsoring a 10-week internship program for aspiring print, photo, graphics and multimedia journalists. There will be one intern working at The Bee and a second at Capital Public Radio. A weekly stipend of $480 will be provided for each intern. The program begins in May or June 2020, depending on the intern’s availability. Upon successful completion of the internship, the intern will be eligible for a $1,000 grant from the chapter.
To qualify, an applicant must be enrolled in a college or university. Recent graduates who completed their studies in Fall 2019 are eligible to apply. All participants must be 2020 AAJA student members. Strong preference will be given to AAJA Sacramento student members. Go to www.aaja.org to join or renew your membership.
AAJA Sacramento will evaluate the initial pool of applications and nominate two candidates for The Bee and Capital Public Radio each to consider. Phone interviews may be conducted for the finalists. Applicants are also encouraged to apply for other student programs that The Bee and Capital Public Radio operate.
